Founded back in 2004, Team A Venture is currently one of the leading international brand retailers in Pakistan.
Hosting 10 international brands under its umbrella, TAV already has inaugurate 43 stores across Pakistan with hopes to add more continuously. It holds the franchises of Mothercare, Crocs, Debenhams, ELC, FitFlop, Superfeet, Timberland, Accessorize, Next, and Monsoon Children.
Their main competitors are also some big brands such as Mango and Splash.
Having the physical appearance of their numerous stores of different brands in multiple cities countrywide, TAV decides to take it to the digital level and have their online presence.
Each brand under the TAV’s umbrella has different SOPs.
Hence, they need to follow some specific guidelines or regulations of every franchise that they own.
This makes their job very tedious and hectic.
Some of the brands have allowed them to sell their products online with the brand domain name but, with the country extension of ‘.pk’, for instance, Mothercare.pk or superfeet.pk.
On the other hand, some brands take a very different approach and don’t let them sell online or even use the brand domain name.
Therefore, they will sell those items on their websites that allow it.
TAV is planning to launch an integrated marketplace where they will sell all the brands under their umbrella that does not allow digital presence with the brand domain name.
If you want to have a quick look at their integrated marketplace, then head over to either Mothercare.pk or superfeet.pk.
There you will be able to see multiple brands slider on the homepage.
After much success in retail, TAV decided to step into the digital world.
Mothercare was the first brand under the TAV’s name to officially get an online store in Pakistan.
TAV began the project in 2012 to create Mothercare.pk on Magento 1 with the help of Mothercare’s development team in the UK.
However, they outsourced the project Crimson wing at KPMG, who delivered them an initial working e-commerce website on the Magento 1 platform.
As time passed, Magento gave a deadline when Magento 1 will be obsoleted from the online world.
So, when the online sales grew for Mothercare.pk, they decided to move on to Magento 2.
After much online research, TAV found that RLTSquare is one of the leading Magento developers in Pakistan, providing the best services in Magento development in the country.
So, RLTSquare took this opportunity to produce something beautiful and stunning.
After several meetings of negotiations and information exchange with their IT Head and E-commerce Head.
As TAV had multiple brands under their belt but only one centralized team, their first and most important requirement was to have a single backend database.
That single frontend will, in turn, run multiple frontends for their different brands.
Not just this, TAV wanted to migrate from their Magento 1 Commerce/Enterprise Edition to Magento 2 Commerce Cloud.
RLTSquare began the work by designing the core architecture of the system in such a way that it will support multi-website structure.
It will be able to carry on other websites on the same system with the same admin panel.
After much discussions with Mothercare’s IT team in the initial phases of the project, we decided to breakdown the project into much smaller tasks to ensure efficiency and better time management.
Using the Trello Project Management Tool, we divided the tasks into multiple categories such as Frontend, Theme Design, Backend, Integrations, and Final Testing.
Now getting on with the tasks, for Theme Design, we had a detailed guideline from Mothercare’s UK development team to follow the protocol and produce something very similar to that.
After much hard-work and keeping strictly with the guidelines, we created PSDs.
However, these PSDs were subject to approval by their development team and after their approval, we began our work on creating the theme on Magento 2.
Their other essential requirement was to integrate the core with multiple features such as:
- Dynamic
- STEP (Importing products from Mothercare U. K’s centralized products inventory)
- Leopard Courier Service (Local courier service in Pakistan)
- Debit/Credit Card Payment Method integration with CyberSource using Habib Bank Limited
- Scene7 (Using images from Scene7, where they place all the images)
Other than that, we integrated some third-party modules like “one-step checkout” from Aheadworks.
Rest we integrated some third-party modules for them. For example,
- Onestepcheckout from Aheadworks
- Advanced Search from Amasty
- Store Pickup by MageDelight
- Shop by Brand by MagePlaza,
- Out of Stock notification by Webkul
After completing the development, we integrated some marketing tools on the website, such as Google Analytics, Gtag, Facebook Pixel, Enhanced E-commerce, and Facebook Messenger Chat.
Since the start of our discussion meetings with the Mothercare team in October 2018, Mothercare had a strict timeline for us to finish the project before May 2019.
Hence, after creating Design PSDs and getting them approved, we picked up our pace with Theme development, Migration, Backend Modules, and integrating the site with all other platforms.
After rigorous testing and final check, Mothercare.pk on Magento 1 was replaced by a new, rebranded, and revamped the face of Magento 2 with tons of exciting and additional features in April 2019.
Since the successful launch of the Mothercare.pk on Magento 2, TAV decided to take on an aggressive approach by developing the e-commerce websites of the other brand as well.Superfeet.pk was the next in line.
After several rounds of discussions and meetings to gather all the relevant information and guidelines, we began the work on Superfeet.pk.
Amongst several requirements and personalized features already provided for Mothercare.pk, TAV wanted something “extra” for their next project.
Hence, RLTSquare gave it all they had to produce something remarkable with several existing and new features in Superfeet.pk’s development.
TAV launched the website with a completely new theme, new design, new frontend development, but as a multi-website system in the same backend with the same admin panel as shared by Mothercare.pk.
Both websites fall on the same admin panel and there is a centralized e-commerce team at TAV that is managing all their digital stores.
As of now, we are working with TAV’s team to create yet another digital store for their franchise with the same round of meetings and discussion to gather the information.
